This site is educational

Everything published on measura.ai is general health information written to help you understand what a particular assessment measures and why it might be done. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not medical advice for you specifically. Reading it does not create a physician-patient relationship.

Measura measures; it does not diagnose or treat

Measura is a diagnostic assessment service. The assessments produce measurements. Turning a measurement into a diagnosis requires a clinician who knows your history, your examination and your medications, and every result is reviewed with a clinician before any conclusion is drawn from it. No assessment described on this site treats any condition.

Do not stop or change a medication because of something you read here

Several common medications change what these assessments show — that is why we ask for a complete list. It is never a reason to skip a dose or stop a drug. Talk to the clinician who prescribed it.

Individual results vary

Where this site reports figures from our own patient population, they are described as practice-reported figures with the population named. They are not trial outcomes, they are not a prediction about you, and individual results vary. Published research figures are cited to their source with the population the study examined.

Emergencies

If you are having a medical emergency — chest pain, sudden weakness, sudden change in speech or vision, a cold and painful limb, or a wound that is spreading — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not wait for an appointment and do not use this website. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, call or text 988.

How we source what we publish

Every numeric health claim on this site is attributed to a named source, and the population that figure describes is named in the same sentence. Where evidence is thin or mixed, we say so and explain what the studies did and did not examine, rather than leaving the reader with a confident answer we cannot support. Clinical pages carry the date they were last reviewed and the name of the physician who reviewed them.
